Auto ElastQ

Automated, accurate and reproducible results for liver shear wave elastography

Automate your liver elastography exams with Auto ElastQ: precision, reproducibility and ease of use – all in one solution! Auto ElastQ automatically analyzes elastography loops and selects frames for measurement within a 2D shear wave elastography (ElastQ) image. It also recommends measurement locations within these selected frames. The liver stiffness measurements obtained from liver shear wave elastography can be used to diagnose and stage patients with liver fibrosis.

Frame selection
Elastography measurements should be made on frames that show stable and consistent shear wave propagation. Auto ElastQ identifies and selects these stable frames by comparing each frame to its neighbors and choosing only those frames that are very similar to adjacent frames and have a high percentage of fill inside the ElastQ imaging box.

Quality metrics
Auto ElastQ analyzes the ElastQ image based on three quality metrics: smoothness within each local region, temporal stability of each region relative to the same regions in adjacent frames and the similarity of each pixel relatively to the rest of the pixels inside the box. This ensures that the region of interest is placed in a location that is representative of the majority of the pixels in the ElastQ imaging box.

ROI selection
The three quality metrics are combined into one composite map. The peak in this composite map, along with the confidence map, is used to select the region of interest for measurement.
