Rethink 'new' with Circular Edition
Lower carbon footprint compared to new
Over its lifetime, the carbon footprint of a typical refurbished Azurion 7 C20 system is 28% lower compared to a new one, saving 25.76 tonnes CO2e emissions, thanks to reusing more than 2457 kg (80%) of the material weight.
This translates to 60% less supply chain emissions, meaning a 60% lower impact on your Scope 3 emissions versus a new system.
When shifting to renewable electricity during use, the carbon footprint saving goes up to 55%.3

Footnotes
  1. Average cost savings compared to the purchase price of a similar new Philips system. Pricing depends on modality, product type, configuration, and other factors.
  2. Based on the average weight re-use percentage per system for Philips MR, CT, Mobile C-arm and Image-guided therapy refurbished systems in 2024. Results may vary based on the amount, type, mix and age of returned systems.
  3. Comparison of a new Azurion 7 C20 and a refurbished Azurion 7 C20. Based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in line with ISO14040/44 and using ReCiPe2016, EcoInvent 3.9.1 database including global average energy mix, COCIR standard for energy consumption, and the average reused weight percentage during refurbishment in Best in 2023. Results will vary based on amount, system type and age of returned systems as well as the country due to, amongst other things, source of energy and logistics. Supply chain emissions refer to all Life Cycle stages, excluding use-phase and end of life. For a healthcare customer this is equivalent to scope 3 emissions - for more information, refer to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
