Clinicians’ ability to take advantage of modern monitoring capabilities is hamstrung by a lack of interoperability. Philips Capsule Medical Device Information Platform (MDIP) can now be integrated with PIC iX, enabling first-of-its kind medical device interoperability. MDIP liberates live-streaming patient data from nearly any medical device, so it flows through PIC iX, giving clinicians a near-real-time digital, vendor-neutral and unified view of their patient.

Building on our MDIP and PIC iX integration is the next evolution in patient monitoring: true command and control across all medical devices, across all care settings. We’re embracing Service-oriented Device Connectivity (SDC) standards and actively encouraging all medical device companies to join us. Using devices that are ready for SDC can radically change clinicians’ experience by enabling them to see – and act on – data derived from technology regardless of the manufacturer.

Through Alarm Insights Manager (available as an application of the Clinical Insights Manager platform), you can leverage comprehensive alarming data from across your enterprise to inform quality improvement projects, such as addressing excess alarms, interpreting alarm accuracy and reviewing historical data for continuous improvement. Alarm Insights Manager enables visualization of alarm key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess alarm burden and helps reveal insights into root causes of alarm fatigue.
